be happy...

be happy... what is it that makes YOU happy?  make a list...write it down...take the time...it will amaze you...i promise.  the things that bring you happiness can turn a gray day into one of sunshine.  here is my list:  parents...brothers...sisters...husband...children...grandchildren...gospel...knowledge...faith...job...sunshine...laughter...dogs...friends...health...home...and the list goes on.  so many blessings that are mine.  there is no way that can i not be happy with everything that i have been blessed with.  happiness can be shared with others around us...it is contagious.  smile the next time you are waiting in line...say hello to someone you see along your way...hold a door for someone...give a compliment...be of service...it will brighten someones day.  just be happy!

tate's message:

This week I think I learned a lot about being more grateful and just enjoying life. I started reading the Book of Mormon again and I realized that the very first thing nephi says in the very first verse of the book of Mormon is how grateful he is for goodly parents and for being blessed by The Lord. The very first thing written in the most important book on the face of the planet is someone being grateful for what he has. I am so grateful for what I have been given. We are blessed daily and we have no reason to be sad or upset in this life. But we have every reason to be happy and enjoy every second. I remember mom always quoting Gordon b hinckley. "This life is to be enjoyed, not just endured."

I challenge us to all be more grateful and look at the bright side in life. If you aren't happy, that's your choice. We have all the power to be happy in this life. And we can help others find happiness as well. I'm grateful for all of you and everything god has blessed me with. I love life. And I enjoy every experience I have whether good or bad.

Monday me and elder johns went for a run and it had been a few days since we ran last so it was pretty hard not gonna lie. But I always feel really good after a nice run. I think I will always be a runner now. Then we had our usual Monday morning office meeting that went really well. We will be working with a new senior couple here in a few weeks so that should be fun. They are really nice!! After us and the other four office elders went to lunch at a Chinese restaurant. It was decent. Obviously not mandarin house worthy or panda worthy but for chile it was decent. And then we went and picked up the mail. Relaxed for the rest of our lunch break. And then hit the work. Mondays are usually pretty busy. The other missionaries have Pday so they are always coming in and we also have to do statistics and stuff. So it takes a while.

I did happen to get an email from tanner nielson though. I miss that guy! Ha. It was good to hear from a good friend. Tell the Nielson family hi and that I love them. Oh and that I miss Sally's oatmeal chocolate chip cookies a ton.

We ended the night by getting an email from president saying that elder salas from the 70 will be coming to our mission this next week. So looks like I will be pretty busy for the next couple weeks. As if the time wasn't already going by way to fast, now it will fly. There will be a ton of preparation to do so should be fun. I love it here. It keeps me busy and giving it my all. I don't really have time to slack off or relax so that's a good thing.  We walked home. It was a pretty cold night. I hope it starts raining soon!! But we ended the night with some hot chocolate.

Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday flew by as we were traveling everyday doing interviews and then when we would get back it was prepare for the next day. I learn so much from everyone of the missionaries out here. They are all examples to me. I have been so blessed to get to know so many of them.

We stayed in a hotel again Thursday and it was weird again. Just sitting there all night. But also I loved the shower. I didn't have to bend over to get under the water and there was an actual water heater  so I was in heaven. We finished up the interviews with the last zone and I slept the whole two hours home.

 Have a good week!!! Chao

share...

share... i have never been one to easily ask someone to read the book of mormon or come to church or to have the missionaries visit them.  for me...i share what i believe in by my actions and example.  this week i will be leaving a job that  i have had for the past eight years.  i have worked closely with people that i will miss seeing every day.  i have tried through out the years to be a good example to them.  i have been a friend...someone that they can confide in and not worry that i will share what with others what we have talked about. i have tried to be a positive and happy person although i too have had sad days along the way.  i have shared my thoughts and beliefs along the way hoping to make their struggles a little easier.  the interesting thing about this is that in return i have been touched also by their kindness and example to me.  this is what friendship means to me.  sharing a piece of your self with others.  these people that i speak of are truly friends that i will miss.  i am glad that we could share a little bit or ourselves with each other.  sharing with a friend and not expecting anything in return is what being a friend is truly about.

tate's message...

share...Charity is not letting someone

else get lost along the way.

Think about all the friends we have in this world who may be a little lost. Who may need a little help. Who may not know what to do, where to turn, or who to trust.

If we truly love our friends we will do everything possible to help them find true happiness. And I know without a doubt. Just as much as all of you know without a doubt where true happiness is found in this life. That's why I am out here. Because I have something that others don't. So help them find it. That's my challenge this weeks find a friend who is looking for true happiness and help them recognize where it is found.

It was so awesome to talk to you last Sunday. It was weird at the same time knowing that I will never have to Skype you guys again. I will be able to just see you guys. But it was a good time. I love you all.

Monday went by so fast it was crazy. We went for a nice morning run and then got ready and went to the office for our Monday office meeting. That went well as usual and after president invited us over to eat lunch and also to talk about redoing the mission website. So lunch was way good Monday . Always good in the mission home. We had the meeting and then me and elder ralda stuck around to update some information for president in his office.  Then we just left straight from there to go to San Fernando to do a few interviews.

I had a really cool experience there tho. As we started doing a teaching practice with a sister missionary, I learned a valuable lesson. That the gospel is  easy testifying that god lives and that Christ died for us. That they love us. And they have a plan with steps of things that we have to do to be able to live with them again. This little Hermana from Peru shared a scripture and Testified of Christ and of god. And with tears in her eyes said that she knows that this gospel is true. The room got quiet and I was grateful for the little sister missionary and her example to me. Sometimes in this life we make things so complicated when really they are so simple. God doesn't want to frustrate us. He wants us to see how simple life is and how easy it can be. And that's why he gives us the gospel.

Tuesday we wee back in San Fernando all day long. It was a pretty long day in not going to lie. But all went well as always.

Wednesday we were back in the north in buin. More interviews. More getting to know all the missionaries. Awesome day. We also that night opened a 40 kilo back of ties (as you can see in the pictures) . It costed like 20 bucks and we split it between the 4 of us. I found some CLASSY ties. It was a good time. We spent quite some time picking out all the ties that we wanted. But it was so worth it.

Thursday we went to Santa Cruz for interviews and it was one of the longer days. We didn't get back here until like 8:00 pm. And then president wanted us to do a few things for him so that took us to the end of the night.

Friday we stayed in rancagua. It was a chill day and after interviews president gave us the rest of the day off to relax and get some things done because we won't get a Pday again this week. But we just stayed in the office and hung around and did some stuff anyways. We had some good fun as you can see in the pictures. Weird things happen when you in an office all day. But I'm so grateful for these guys. We have such a good time. It is awesome.

i love my mom the most...

i love my mom the most...  when i was a little girl i would get my red wagon and fill it with my dolls and stuffed animals and pretend they were all of my children.  i would take them for walks down the street and play mommy all day.  being a mom is truly all that i have ever wanted to be.  i never wanted a career or a big fancy job.  i just wanted to be mom.  i am very blessed with the three that call me mom.  i think it is my very favorite thing in the world to be called mom.  i now am a gramma to two little girls and a soon to be little boy.  life is good.  gramma is a name that i go by now.  i am thankful for the women who were and are examples to me as mothers.  this mother's day was so fun because we got to skype with tate and see his smiling face...so grateful for his example and for tyson and taryn's example to me.   it makes being a mom easy!

tate's message...
i love my mom the most... I watched a video called #itwasmom that the church came out with and something caught my eye.  It says "motherhood is the highest, holiest service assumed by humankind. It's the definition of selfless service. It's both a daunting responsibility and a glorious opportunity. The Divine role of motherhood is a gift from god, and a key to his plan of happiness for all his children." There really is no other calling in this earth that is more important than a mom. I remember coming home every single day and the first thing I would yell when I got into the house was "MOM!!!"  All I wanted to know was where she was at. I'm not really sure why I had to know or for what reason but I just wanted to make sure she was there. I think this page explains exactly how I feel towards my mother.

Who helped you tie your shoes or learn a new piece on the piano? When you forgot your science project was due the next day, who made a late-night run for poster board and glue? It was Mom.Every Christmas, even though money was always tight, who consistently pulled off a miracle and made Christmas morning magical and memorable? It was Mom.Now that you’re a parent, you may scratch your head wondering how she did it all. Each day is filled with toys to put away and noses to wipe, dinners to make and work to squeeze in. You can’t remember when—if ever—she took time for herself. But now you feel what your mom must have felt as you watch your toddler fall asleep and listen to his giggles in the other room. You now understand better than ever that mothers are gifts from God. In fact, motherhood is the “highest, holiest service . . . given to mankind.”

“MOTHERS ARE ENDOWED WITH A LOVE THAT IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER LOVE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH.”Marjorie Pay Hinckley“THERE IS NO LIMIT TO WHAT A MOTHER CAN ACCOMPLISH. RIGHTEOUS WOMEN HAVE CHANGED THE COURSE OF HISTORY AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO.”Julie B. Beck“THERE ARE FEW THINGS MORE POWERFUL THAN THE PRAYERS OF A RIGHTEOUS MOTHER.”Boyd K. Packer
“ALL THAT I AM OR EVER HOPE TO BE, I OWE TO MY ANGEL MOTHER.”

Abraham LincolnSo this Mother’s Day, let your mom know she’s important. Write her a card, create a tribute, send some flowers—because when you think about it: who was the champion and cheerleader for nearly everything in life you cling to with all your heart? It was Mom.

I LOVE YOU MOM. You're the reason I'm the way I am and you will receive eternal blessings for choosing to be a mother. YOU'RE the best. Love you. Elder Harding.

pEaCe... i knew that it would be hard...i prayed for help...it was hard...i tried to be strong...it hurt...i was disappointed...i was angry...i wanted to give up...i cried...i prayed again...just when i need to be reminded...my heavenly father reached out to me...i know he feels my pain...i know he knows my heart...i know that he has a plan for me...he gave me hope...he gave me love...

moroni 10:20  "wherefore there must be faith; and if there must be faith there must be hope; and if there must   be hope there must also be charity."

he gave me peace...

tate's message...

One thing that really touched my heart was a lady we taught who said "I don't know why I let you in. I never do. I just had a feeling this time. She now had a date to get baptized and we had an amazing lesson. She told us the only thing she wants to find is just peace in her life. I know that we can have a complete peace only through this gospel. I see it daily and feel it daily. True peace comes from knowing that Christ died for us and lives for us. And that he has established his church on earth in this day so we can some day live with our families forever. That's peace my friends. If it's not then I don't know what is.

Monday in the morning we had the regular office meeting and coordinated all the stuff we need to do. Right afterwards we went to get mail and I got my package. I think everything was in there. Hi chews. Granola bars. Licorice. Rubber band.  1 Journal. Jerky. Fruit roll ups.  So I think we are all good. Thank you so much. I won't need you to send me anything else I don't think. I'm pretty sure that was the last of the packages. Otherwise I will just be bringing stuff home ha. President and sister warne invited us over to eat lunch to kinda say goodbye and thanks to elder archibald who will be leaving the office this change. It will be sad but the new secretary is a cool kid so we are also way excited.

This week we had a lot planned for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. And the next week will be NUTS so we had to take advantage of monday night and Friday night to get everything planned and organized for the next week. I will not sleep at all the next week. Or at least Monday until Wednesday I won't hahah! Woo!!!

Tuesday we were walking around centro in the morning running some errands with the secretaries and for president and then in the afternoon we had a meeting with president to plan even more stuff. So our day was jam packed again.

Wednesday  We had a normal morning. Some studies and then some office work. We also had a sick lunch. We ate with the new office couples house (the ditlevsens) and it was legit. Afterwards elder ditlevsen played us a bunch of songs on the guitar. He is an inspirational man and always loves to tell us stories and stuff.  Then after that elder ditlevsen took the car and got into a little wreck so we spent the rest of the day doing stuff with that trying to figure out what was needed to be done. It was just a weird day. Full of weird little occurrences. But hey. I'm weird sometimes. The missions weird sometimes.  And life's just weird sometimes. So just gotta go with the flow I guess..

Thursday was a wet day. We did divisions in the pouring rain!!! I love the rain here though. We saw so many miracles. The members really helped us tons. It is cool to see the members and the missionaries come together to bring people to Christ.

Friday for some reason was a harder day. We got home at 130 in the morning the night before from divisions so I was really tired. But we just had so much to do there was no time to rest a little more.  So we got to the office and president had sent us like 7 emails of things to do so we went ahead and did like half of those and then it was time for lunch. And then just finished them when we got back as well as we had to plan our segment for they monthly zone leader meeting next week. It's amazing to me how no matter how busy or crazy things are, wherever you are, you can sit down say a prayer and study the scriptures and apply it to your life. And really really benefit from it. I have found that often times I am happiest when I have ten minutes to read the scriptures and apply them to my life. That's my invitation this week. No matter the situation or how busy. Find the time to read every single day and apply it to your life. You will see miracles if you do it.

I love you guys. Have a good week!!! You're the best. We will Skype in one week!!! WOO!!!!! Weird it's the last time.
